Seed Coalition is excited to announce our 2025 Annual Awards Ceremony being held on Friday, April 11th at the Kay Fredericks Room in the Klas Center of Hamline University. More information about the event can be found on our website.
The Seed Coalition Annual Awards are a fantastic way to highlight the great work happening on campus and recognize outstanding individuals for their contributions. Aracelli Tapatillo, a Simpson College student and recipient of the Presidents’ Student Leadership Award in 2024, exemplifies the impact of these awards. “Receiving the President’s Student Leadership Award was an unexpected honor that reinforced the notion that my faithfulness and genuineness in serving others is worthy of being affirmed,” she says.
Receiving an award is meaningful for community partners and alumni as well. “I was deeply humbled to have been nominated and then receive the Engaged Alumni Award. I am honored to be a small wave in the great ocean of this engaged tradition,” says Jesse Phenow, a graduate of Bethel University and recipient of the 2024 Engaged Alumni Award.
Member campuses are invited to nominate groups and individuals for two types of awards: The Presidents’ Awards and the Engaged Campus Awards.
- Presidents’ Awards recognize outstanding contributions in civic and community engagement from each of our member campuses. Every member campus is invited to designate awardees to be recognized at the event in one or more of these categories. There are three award categories: Student Leadership Award, Civic Engagement Leadership Award, and Community Partner Award.
- Engaged Campus Awards recognize great projects, partnerships, and programs related to civic and community engagement. Nominations are reviewed and one winner and honorable mention are selected to be recognized at the event. There are three categories: Alumni Leadership Award, Community Collaboration Award, and Emerging Innovation Award.
Member campuses are invited to submit nominations for both award types in as many categories as they choose. Nominations can be submitted here and are due by February 28th. Winners in the Engaged Campus Award categories will be notified March 14th if they have been selected.
Each campus is encouraged to designate their own process for selecting and submitting nominations. This could include putting out a campus-wide call for nominations, partnering with existing awards or recognitions happening on campus, or designating a specific office or program to lead the selection process. After determining the process that works best given the individual campus situation and needs, one award form should be submitted by a campus representative that outlines all award nominations.
The Annual Awards are one of the most meaningful and exciting events of the year for Seed Coalition and we hope to receive a record number of nominations! If you have any questions about the nomination process or awards event on April 11th, please contact Kara Trebil-Smith at [email protected].
