Looking for Communities of Practice Facilitators

We are excited to announce the return of Communities of Practice this year! A Community of Practice, or CoP, is a dedicated group of individuals who share a mutual area of inquiry and engage in collective learning as it pertains to their work or practice. Our CoP page has more detailed information about why and how we organize these learning opportunities.

Facilitator Application

CoP facilitators prepare for and lead at least four group meetings, starting in December/January and ending in May, with the support of a Seed Coalition team member. Facilitators create engaged learning communities where participants learn, grow, and build relationships.

Based on feedback from our network, this year we are prioritizing CoPs that:

  • Use a teaching circle model to support the development of
    community-engaged pedagogy
  • Are specifically designed for advanced community engagement practitioners
  • Explore dynamics of community and civic engagement in an urban and/or rural context
  • Discuss the creation of campus/community cultures of dialogue across difference

Our preference is for each CoP to be led by two co-facilitators. Those who have identified a co-facilitator can submit one joint application, or individuals can submit their own and Seed Coalition staff will match applicants with one another.

Our priority deadline for applications is Friday, October 4. Facilitators earn a $500 stipend, receive support and training, and can propose their own topic of interest or select one from the recommendations.
